Pest

Pest refers to an animal or any insect that cause destruction to crop, livestock and food products etc. Cows are pest when they destroy crops. Ants are enemy of bees because they eat honey. So ants are pest to bees.Snakes eat eggs and chickens in a poultry farm. Snakes are thus called pests of chicken. Thus any animals so long as they cause injury or damages to another animals or plants is a pest.

Plantation

Plantation is called for the activities of growing cash crops such as tea, coffee, cotton, rubber, tobacco on large scale. Plantation is done usually in big farm covering large plot of land. Lot of capital investment is required to start a plantation farming . So during the initial industrial era of the 17 th - 20 th centuries plantation was often refereed to as estate . Yet these days the term estate is still used but in rare cases.

Pollen

Pollen or pollen grains are the male gametes of flower . When you touch a ripen flower sometimes you realized that your fingers or sleeves got colored by some kind of dusty particles. Those particles are called pollen or pollen grains . During fertilization pollen go to land in the stigma with the help of vectors like insects or animals or wind. After landing in the stigma the pollen will produce tube like projection to reach the ovary and fertilize the egg in there. See: Typical flower

Pteridophyte

All ferns are known by one ugly name Pteridophyte . Ferns are amazing plants. Their roots are so tiny but profuse their main roots are big and run like a snake from one direction to the other. Their leaves are just like the feathers of the forest. They make the entire entrance to your home a welcome and thank you sign. Common examples of ferns are Selagenella, Dicksonia . In botanical terms: ferns are the most modern plants amongst the thallophytes (seedless plants). Next to the Fern come the first seeds bearing plants called Gymnosperms .

Lower plants

The plants that never flower , neither produce fruits or seeds are called lower plants . Lower plants comprise all those plants that live well in moist and damp places. All ferns, liver whort, selagenella, mosses and algae are collectively fall under the category of lower plants . They are sometimes referred to as cryptogams .
