Pteridophyte

All ferns are known by one ugly name Pteridophyte. Ferns are amazing plants. Their roots are so tiny but profuse their main roots are big and run like a snake from one direction to the other. Their leaves are just like the feathers of the forest. They make the entire entrance to your home a welcome and thank you sign. Common examples of ferns are Selagenella, Dicksonia.

In botanical terms: ferns are the most modern plants amongst the thallophytes (seedless plants). Next to the Fern come the first seeds bearing plants called Gymnosperms.
